Nazira Karimi
Currently in her practice Karimi researches the topic of extinction, in relation to colonisation and the post-colonised existence; resulting in natural disasters, cultural damage and the extinction of the memory.
Using found footage alongside Karimi’s family archives, Apat tells the artist’s personal history. The history that is yet to be reclaimed. Finding her own story mirroring the coming of age and independence of a people and the region.
Apat was commissioned by the Asian Film Archive.
